Trump Administration Plans to Stop Funding Gain of Function R&D That Gave Us COVID-19

The Trump administration is preparing an executive order to halt U.S. funding for a controversial scientific technique known as "gain-of-function" (GOF). This method involves enhancing viruses to develop traits they would not naturally possess, such as the ability to infect, and even kill humans.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, as the head of NIAID, has been a champion of GOF research, not just in word but in action. Emails, whistleblowers, and documents have revealed that he used his position to shield this risky technology and bypass federal restrictions to ensure its funding. Furthermore, Congressional reports found that Fauci facilitated the transfer of GOF research to the Wuhan laboratory in China, where it is alleged that scientists created COVID-19, leading to its eventual release into the public.
