FAITH CHECK: Salena Zito explains why Trump's win last week in Pennsylvania should have been obvious to the expert class. Instead, they misread the American people missing the most obvious trend of all - "the Republican Party had now become the party of work."
Democrats remain vexed at the way the billionaire businessman turned TV personality bonded with every day working class. They clung to their identity politics and fearmongering of a dictator on day one. The airwaves were oversaturated with ads demeaning MAGA and portraying Harris as the second coming of Barack Obama.
Meanwhile, Trump treated the plumber and the firefighter and the waitress with respect and dignity not just as fellow Americans, but that their work mattered. Trump went to the voters.
The former President, Pennsylvania Senator Fetterman and Governor Shapiro took the same political path to electoral victory. All three “spent more time in places like Cambria, Luzerne, and Erie counties than in the bigger cities of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia where voters feel they and their issues are “seen.”
Meanwhile, Kamala and Joe doubled down on Bidenomics.
"He (Biden & Kamala) told them inflation was transitory, but it was not. He told them inflation had gone down. Eventually, the inflation rate had indeed gone down, but he just forgot to tell them that the prices were still growing, just more slowly. He told them the economy was robust, but in their lives, it wasn’t. He told them the border was closed. It wasn’t."
We may never know what the real scheme was in replacing Joe with Kamala. And it probably won't matter.
The American people wanted change, and they believed Trump would bring that change, because their bank accounts confirmed they were better off four years ago.
Please take the time to read Salena Zito's article in the Washington Examiner. Especially for those who are feeling anxious about a second Trump term. You may discover that you really do have more in common with your neighbor.
