Bishop Mariann Budde got her 15 minutes of fame when she chastised Trump in a speech at the National Prayer Service lecturing him on "mercy" towards illegal immigrants. Now we find out she was banking tax payer funds to facilitate migrant resettlement.
Her Episcopal Migration Ministries raked in $53 million in 2023 for migrant resettlement effectively facilitating the world's largest and most profitable human trafficking industry. Meanwhile, she slams Trump’s immigration policies as "cruel."
The alleged Christian minister is also a well known leftist political activist who condemned Trump’s 2020 church visit, calling it a “photo-op.” And here she is In 2025, choreographing a photo-op of her own at the National Prayer Service to lecture him on “mercy.”
Trump called her a radical leftist. He’s right.
She decries border security but profits from open-border policies. Our faith should inform our politics. For Budde, we now know her faith is in the almighty dollar.
Like Ananias and Sapphira in the Book of Acts, who lied about giving all their proceeds to the church and paid the ultimate price, Budde claims moral high ground while pocketing government money. While no one wishes physical harm to the Bishop, if you hear thunder in the sky, you might want to keep your distance.
Preaching virtue, cashing in—classic hypocrisy.
