The garbage truck that candidate Trump drove in to a 2024 rally will be part of the Inauguration Day Parade as Trump takes office for his second term. Choosing to highlight the working class appears to be an intentional signal to Washington, D.C. what his second term will prioritize.

As far as I know, a garbage truck has never been included, let alone highlighted in a Presidential Inauguration. These parades typically feature military units, marching bands, and floats that celebrate American history. In that way, it seems President Trump intends to follow through on his promise to remember the forgotten working class. We called them "essential workers" in the pandemic so they could keep serving the wealthy and the laptop class as they hid in their homes and took vacations. And yet, the economy over the past four years has only served the wealthiest Americans.

As President Trump honors the working class over the ruling class, expectations are high that an America First agenda will reverse the damage done over the past four years.

From The Hill
While in Wisconsin in late October, the president-elect entered a garbage truck themed to his campaign, trying to draw attention to comments from President Biden in which he seemingly called Trump supporters “garbage.”

“How do you like my garbage truck? This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden,” Trump said at the time from the truck’s passenger seat, which featured a Trump campaign sticker and flag.
