FAITH CHECK STAFF: the Bible warns us, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Politicians most certainly ignore this truth almost like a religious right. How can we choose our leaders when both sides used charged language? Put it in context. Is there demonstrated evidence to support the claim or the label? But be careful here. Are you just taking the word of a multimillionaire talking head, or have you done your own research? Have the voices making those claims been found wanting and even lying in the past?
For instance, did you know that Democrats have called every Republican presidential candidate going back to George W. Bush 'Hitler.' It's a staple political attack. It wasn't true about any of them, and it's not true about President Trump. Even more, we have four years of governance to prove that Trump did not collude with his DOJ to go after his political opponents. Trump specifically left Hillary Clinton alone, despite public evidence she broke the law.
Your vote has the power to influence our nation for good. Don't be swayed by heated rhetoric designed to stoke fear and as Mayor Adams warns, to seed the rage of violence if Trump wins. Do not be mistaken, that is exactly what this campaign strategy is designed to do. The Harris campaign knows they are losing, and they've chosen the path of violent rebellion over a peaceful transition of power.
Thank God, some Democrats know the tongue has the power of life and riots.

MAYOR ERIC ADAMS: You know, I have had those terms hurled at me by some political leaders in the city -- using terms like Hitler and fascist. My answer is no. I know what Hitler has done and I know what a fascist regime looks like.
I think, as I've called over and over again, that the level of conversation, we could all dial down the temperature. And I've heard people say that the former president should not be able to have a rally in Madison Square Garden. I strongly disagree. This is America. This is New York. And I think it's important that we allow individuals who exercise their right to get their message clear to New Yorkers.
Our job as a city and a police department is to make sure you do that in a peaceful way. We must be extremely cautious, the heat we turn up today, pre-election, is going to the be the we're going to have to govern. And I think we need to show a level of respectful communication.
We people call me fascist and other terminologies, i didn't like it. I don't think it is fitting to anyone to say that the former president is equal to begin Hitler. I think this is a city where we have the largest Jewish population, anti-Semitism is on the rise nationally, we need to do everything we can top push back on that level of anti-Semitic tone and anti-Semitic issues we're facing in the city. Let's have a safe, fair democratic process and show the globe how we do it in New York.
