Facebook/Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, "We're going to get rid of fact-checkers." Zuckerberg directly attributes their free speech conversion to President Trump's re-election.

"The recent elections feel like a cultural tipping point towards once again prioritizing speech," he told Fox & Friends on Tuesday.

“We’re going to get back to our roots and focus on reducing mistakes, simplifying our policies and restoring free expression on our platforms,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a video posted Tuesday morning. “More specifically, we’re going to get rid of fact-checkers and replace them with Community Notes similar to X, starting in the U.S.”

Why is this important?

Many Christians have believed that God is delivering our nation from a downward spiral of relativism and militant intolerance, and specifically the ideology of Progressivism. This worldview fortified power and wealth in Washington D.C. over the past several decades.

That's why when an outsider came along who pledged in his 2017 inaugural address to return power to the people, they lost their minds.

"Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning, because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another, or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people," declared President Trump as the power brokers of the nation's capital sat behind him brooding and plotting his demise.

What do you think? Is God using President Trump to give us a second chance? Will the America First agenda provide an opportunity for the Church to clean house and renew their calling to be salt and light?

The Biden administration went to great lengths including violating the Constitution to control, manipulate, and shut down free speech. This too is another reason why Americans turned back to the policies of Trump.

Today the social media giant X, once the leftwing fortress of Twitter, has become the go to platform for free speech. And now, Facebook has publicly repented for suffocating free speech and renewed its commitment to "restore free expression on our platforms."

Jesus famously chastised the religious leaders of his day for completely missing what God was doing through the Son of Man.

“When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?" (Luke 12:54-56)

I wonder what Jesus would say to the Church today.

Newsweek offers further insight into Zuckerberg's conversion.

Zuckerberg said on Tuesday that he intended to implement “major changes to its censorship policy,” including removing fact-checkers and replacing them with a community notes system.

He said that Meta platforms, which include Facebook and Instagram, would no longer apply restrictions on politically sensitive topics, such as immigration and gender, describing the regulations as “out of touch with mainstream discourse.”

He also appeared to condemn the use of regulations to block debate, reflecting an increasingly pro-free speech attitude in Silicon Valley that has developed in recent years.

“What started as a movement to be more inclusive has increasingly been used to shut down opinions and shut out people with different ideas, and it’s gone too far,” he said.
