"Eight hostages, including foreign workers, abducted by Hamas on October 7th, 2023, were released Thursday and taken to several different Israeli hospitals. At the same time, President Donald Trump's Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff returned to the region."

This marks the third hostage release in two weeks under the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement.

Just days before taking office, Trump warned that "all hell will break loose" if Hamas failed to reach a deal before his inauguration. Now, two weeks into his presidency, it appears Hamas took President Trump's words to heart and is following through on the ceasefire terms.
