Former German Finance Minister says corruption in Ukraine is rampant and only getting worse. His claim is buttressed by surveys showing that 87.9 percent of the population and 81.3 percent of businesses agree that the level of embezzlement in the country has increased compared to 2022. A majority hold President Zelensky responsible.

Somehow that sentiment doesn't seem to be covered by American news outlets. We all remember how Zelensky was flown around the world like a rock star after the Ukrainians successfully prevented Russia from sweeping across the entire nation at the start of the war. The former comedian and TV actor gave speeches to Congress and NATO members in his infamous rough and graveling voice. Americans bought Ukrainian swag to wear on their lapels, planted blue and yellow flags in the yard, and pasted bumper stickers hailing they were with Ukraine.

Today, Russia controls over a third of the nation. Hundreds of thousands of people have died. Damage to infrastructure is likely in the trillions of dollars. No one can account for the billions of dollars sent to Zelensky to defend his nation.

Except we do know that corruption is widespread and rampant. Government officials are caught siphoning off funds into personal accounts, money is contracted to family and friends, others buy luxury cars and property. Read more at REMIX News.

“Ukraine is now ruled by an oligarch who increasingly relies on foreign aid. A state where corruption is rampant and there are no real democratic structures,” former German Finance Minister Oskar Lafontaine told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, cited by news agency V4NA.

As a farewell gift to Zelensky, Biden announced another $2.5 billion for Ukraine.

(REMIX NEWS) According to 87.9 percent of the population and 81.3 percent of businesses, the level of embezzlement in the country has increased compared to 2022. Many hold Zelensky responsible, with 47.5 percent of citizens and 48.3 percent of company representatives stating that combating corruption is the responsibility of the president and his office.
